✺SPRING EQUINOX INKLINGS✺

the meeting of light + dark in the world + being guided by our INKLINGS

Sun meets skin, on the Amroth seawall.

Greetings to you at this time of Spring Equinox/Ostara or Alban Eilir in Welsh. As light and dark meet as equals what INKLINGS are present within us?

This INKLINGS entwines the light and dark, beginning with sheep….

Short, silly, sheepy check-in

✺ Which sheep are you right now?

✺ Why have you picked this sheep?

✺ What do you need more of at the moment?

✺ What do you need less of?

✺ What support do you need and where could you ask for it/seek it out?

Green life is well and truly brimming, and the clocks are leaping forward. Spring Equinox is a celebration of fertility returning to the land and to the unity of light and dark. It is in this unity that life thrives, and within the meeting of our own intuiting and action that creates health and abundance in our lives.

In these days of equality and unity, we may connect more deeply with the places in our world where the unity is out of balance. This takes the form of inequality in many forms: misogyny, racism, capitalism and natural (human and other-than-human) resource stripping, ableism and others, along with the intersections of these.

On an abundant earth with enough resource are hoarded by a few and narratives of lesser, greater, lower, higher are rooted in the systems of power and privilege. These systems are powerful fictions that are not mirrored and supported by the wider natural cycles around and within us, and we also live our daily lives within these social, political, and work structures.

May this natural moment of balance in the seasons guide and embolden us in our actions towards supporting equity, inclusion, voice raising and resource parity in our world.

May we be fed in our outer actions by the inner tendrils of dreaming and feeling that have past through the winter before, and the years and life times past.

Buds are budding and birds and filling the air with the dawn chorus as the sap begins to rise, within the trees and within our beings. The seeds planted and spoken around Imbolc are now starting to take form. We can sink back into the inward cycles in our days and weeks to support any returning to ground we might need as the light and activity begin to ramp up. There is also an opportunity to pause and take stock. In the same way that in our outward winter months we can have flurries of busyness and outward actioning of projects, there is also an opportunity to pause and take stock as the light returns and energies rise.

From the Seasons + Cycles workbook.

✺ Key questions:

  • What are you INKLINGS telling you right now?

  • Where do you want to focus your attention and energy as Spring emerges?

  • What do you need to support this?

✺ Some suggestions for channelling the equinox energy into external action:

  • Look into local volunteering opportunities.

  • Guide and templates for emailing your UK MP about the UK government’s plans to cut vital disability benefits. Options for writing from a position of being directly affected and if not affected directly, being in solidarity with those who are.

  • Email template for contacting your elected official about the ongoing horrors in Gaza with Humanti Project guidance.

  • Palestine Solidarity UK for active work and protest march information.

  • Plan a fundraiser with your community to raise money for cause you are passionate about.

  • Diarise time to research an issue you are touched/affected by to learn how you can engage positively.

  • Contact a local advocacy/action group.

  • Have a conversation with a trusted other about ways you can build socially engaged action into your practice.

✺ There must also be time and space for joy, delight and rest. For this to be woven into our work.

  • Where do you find joy?

  • How can you nurture the glimmers of joy this Spring?

In the warming wildness of this Spring emergence, I wish for your aliveness, and your INKLINGS to be held and nurtured.

Wherever you feel drawn may it bring you a deepening connection to all of life.

In camaraderie,

KJ
