Welcome to INKLINGS

Piet Oudulf garden at Hauser + Wirth, Somerset.

paying attention to inner + outer landscapes.
nurturing connection + a sense of belonging.

From practicing artist, writer + facilitator Kathryn (they/them) at The NATURAL INK. Project, currently based in their homelands of south Pembrokeshire, Wales.

With a background in Art History and education, Kathryn has been a practicing artist since 2013, and making ink and paint from the natural world since 2016. They have been writing in notebooks, for small print publications, and online for many years.

Kathryn also loves to play, perform, show off and piss about. A queer, neuro-spicey Gemini with big thoughts and ideas, forever making links and connections between things and a natural cheerleading disposition for other people’s juicy creative lives.

Their work focuses on mental and physical health and healing, ecology, seasonality, spirituality and Buddhism, being a self-employed person and small business owner, the creative process, queerness, how we nurture connection and what creates disconnection, and how we might belong to ourselves, our places, communities, and the wider world, (and often everything else in between).

The INKLINGS space is their commitment to creative practice; their own and in solidarity with all who are pursuing a life of connection in a world designed to separate and subdue.

They have worked as an artist educator/facilitator since 2008 in art and community settings: Arnolfini in Bristol. Light Box: The Happiness Project, in Bristol. Buddhafield in UK, BEEF in Bristol, and Embercombe in Devon.

A part of LOVE + LOSS installation. Somerset Art Weeks 2022: Sanctuary

They were part of a group artist residency Start By Not Knowing at Dove Studios and also exhibited there as part of the 2022 Somerset Art Weeks ‘Sanctuary’ with natural ink works on paper and LOVE + LOSS installation.
