Hello folks.
The labour of ink love that is the NATURAL INK. Course is now ready to be shared with you all, on this crisp December day.
This time I mean it.
This is the third manifestation of this juicy offering and is all the better for the percolation time.
The resources are richer, and the ambience is just right after a turn of the seasons that has been full of creativity, connection, and community. It has all fed back into this course, which I now present upon a platter for your perusal at the introductory offer price of £110 until 31 January 2025. After this, there will be tiered supported, standard, and supportive prices.
This course is where I have put everything I know about making ink from found, grown and foraged plants and metals. It is eight years of colour-making conversation and I am super chuffed to get to share it with you now.
If you are here because you are drawn to the botanical colour-making practice this offering is for you.
The NATURAL INK Course
Part botanical ink-making course, part community.
Part invitation to spend more time outdoors and connect to land, plant and place.
Part guidance and support in making art and a life by hand.
Part radical and sacred space for care and reciprocal dialogue with the other-than-human world.
Part slow, elemental fortification.
Part space for play, experimentation, mess, delight and joy.
Full welcome to the NATURAL INK. course and community.
This is a new and emerging space for creative connection with the other-than-human and human world. For nature lovers, feelers, thinkers, organic artists, activists, makers and the colour curious. The compilation of botanical ink-making lessons and projects here is an experiment in sharing the joy of making slow colour by hand from respectfully found and foraged materials, plants and metals.
Here we centre nature dialogue within the inner and outer landscapes rather than nature dominance perpetuated by outer and internalised systems of oppression.
We are living through a crescendo of poly-crises, experienced in our personal and collective lives on a planet that is showing clearly the signs of strain humans have provoked. In centring our nature connection through practices such as….
walking and/or spending time in green spaces in rural and urban settings
respectfully connecting with and gathering from seasonal plants
making by hand
sharing our findings and learnings with others,
…we are tending that which is sacred to our life on earth.

From February 2025 I will be holding pop-up live gatherings online for folks on the course to come together and connect. These can be signed up for, with an additional pay-as-you-go fee, for those available and wanting to go a bit deeper.
Sharing Offerings
I will be sharing more about this offering through INKLINGS over the coming weeks and I appreciate your cheerleading and patience as I do this, whether this offering is your cup of tea or not.
Completing projects requires talking about the things we have made to other people (and not just once quickly in passing) and is a key part of the creative cycle. Our work needs to be birthed into the world to go on and live in another way with other people. It is not the most comfortable of spaces for folks, myself included, and I endeavour to share this part of my practice with you in solidarity and camaraderie too.
I can feel a future INKLINGS voice note bubbling up on this topic.
For now, I warmly invite you to have a look at the NATURAL INK. Course. Whether as a potential gift to self and others for Christmas or as a New Year invitation to spend more of 2025 connecting with the seasons and refreshing your craft/art/nature connection practices.
In creative camaraderie,
KJ
